Mission

The Mission: To carry the gospel of Jesus Christ through the word of God, apologetics, and cultural engagement.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. -Matthew 5:9 ESV

A Lifestyle of Peace is a title based on my initial perceptions of what the Christian life is.  The mind of Christ is to live a lifestyle of peace.

"A harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace." -James 3:18 (ESV)

This blog is about sharing the truth of Christianity in relevant ways, to diverse peoples.  It's message is based on the entirety of the Bible as the infallible word of God.

Core Beliefs:
"We believe in one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.

We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place."

-Truth statements used from the "Agreed Statement of Belief."

Additional Beliefs:
-All life is sacred, including unborn human life up to the point of conception.

-The institution of marriage is a divine and sacred gift from almighty God, instituted as between one man and one woman, to the exclusive of all others.

Topics include: Christian apologetics, the philosophy of Christianity, Addiction recovery, Inner growth, Reasonable faith, intelligent design, evangelism, activism, Christian causes, practical application, historical context, and faithful Christian living.

This Blog Isn't: I don't want this blog to ever become condemning of high profile Christian leaders, slamming sub-movements within Christianity, gossiping, and in general sowing seeds of discord, disharmony, and disunity.  Lord please help us here to always do honor to you, to focus on the positive change we can be and share, and to always remember the central message of Jesus Christ.  May the church live out unity as the body of Christ.

Scriptures on Peace: Proverb 12:21 (ESV) Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.

1 Peter 3:9-11 (ESV) Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

Romans 8:6 (ESV) For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

Psalm 36:5-9 (NIV)

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
    your justice like the great deep.
    You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
    People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
    you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light we see light.
