A Lifestyle of Peace

"The evidence of God through apologetics, A worldview applied. The love of Christ a way of life."

Mission Statement: To carry the gospel of Jesus Christ through the word of God, apologetics, and cultural engagement. To disciple believers to live as holy peacemakers in a broken world.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." -Matthew 5:9 ESV

A Lifestyle of Peace: A lifestyle of peace is best represented by the life of Jesus Christ. Believers must have the mind of Christ. And the mind of Christ is to live a lifestyle of peace.

This blog is about sharing the truth of Christianity in relevant ways, to diverse peoples.  It's message is based on the entirety of the Bible as the inerrant word of God.

"A harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace." -James 3:18 (ESV)

Core Beliefs:
"We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that they only constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice.

We believe that there is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship.

We believe that there are three persons in the Godhead – the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory.

We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man.

We believe that our first parents were created in a state of innocency, but by their disobedience they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has by His suffering and death made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever will may be saved.

We believe that repentance towards God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit, are necessary to salvation.

We believe that we are justified by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and that he that believeth hath the witness in himself.

We believe that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.

We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be wholly sanctified, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the immortality of the soul; in the resurrection of the body; in the general judgment at the end of the world; in the eternal happiness of the righteous; and in the endless punishment of the wicked" -The Salvation Army's Eleven Doctrines

Additional Beliefs:
-All life is sacred, including unborn human life up to the point of conception.

-The institution of marriage is a divine and sacred gift from almighty God, instituted as between one man and one woman, to the exclusive of all others.

This Blog Isn't: I don't want this blog to ever become condemning of high profile Christian leaders, slamming sub-movements within Christianity, gossiping, and in general sowing seeds of discord, disharmony, and disunity.  Lord please help us here to always do honor to you, to focus on the positive change we can be and share, and to always remember the central message of Jesus Christ.  May the church live out unity as the body of Christ.

Scriptures on Peace: Proverb 12:21 (ESV) Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.

1 Peter 3:9-11 (ESV) Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

Romans 8:6 (ESV) "For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace."

Psalm 36:5-9 (NIV) "Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals. How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light."
